The Lavender Circle meets
at the Ascension Church, Lavender Hill from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday afternoons for three weeks of each month.
We are a self help, self financing group open to all members
of our community, of all ages. One does not have to be a church member. At the moment there are about 20 of us that come on
and off as they want to. A donation of £1 towards refreshments is appreciated.
Talk is about anything and everything, over cups of tea or coffee and
biscuits, curing each others ills and putting the wrongs of the world to right. Occasionally culinary delights are shared,
usually from the most recently acquired cake recipes, which are counteracted by partaking in weekly exercise routines, to
stave off obesity, for those who want to join in.
At the beginning of each year ideas are put forward by the group, with the most
popular being decided upon for the Diary of Events, that occur on the third Wednesday of each month. These trips range from
going to the seaside, theatre, meals, museums, etc. Great joy is experienced when trips that involve no expense at all are
found. Reductions on trips and help with expenses are available when funds allow. Freedom passes or oyster cards are used
where they can be. Some trips need to be booked and paid for in advance.
We welcome any new people who would like to come and join us.
