 WHO’S WHO & WHAT WE DO

 

Clergy & Staff

 

Fr Iain Clavering Young SSC, Parish Priest: Fr Iain was licenced as Priest-in-Charge of the Ascension, Lavender Hill in 2009. He studdied for the priesthood at The College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. 

 

Miss Barbara Marcham, Southwark Pastoral Auxiliary: Barbara is a Lay Chaplain at King’s College Hospital, working also in the Bereavement Services Department. She recently formed The Lavender Circle for lonely and vulnerable people in the parish.

 

Officers & Representatives

 

The Parochial Church Council,  & Deanery Synod

 

Fr Iain Clavering Young is PCC Chairman (ex officio as Priest-in-Charge)

Barbara Marcham is our PCC Vice-Chairperson and PCC Secretary (ex officio PCC as SPA)

Robert Hill & Ann Warwick are our Churchwardens. [Ann is also our PCC treasurer.] (both ex officio PCC as Churchwardens.) All of whom make up the PCC Standing Committee.

 

 

David Neil-Smith, Dean Warwick and Jacqueline Wilkinson-Coombes are our Deanery Synod Representatives. (all ex officio PCC as Deanery Synod Reps)


Gloria Case, Joanne Damianou, Cheryl Harper, Gloria Harper, Xavier Perez, Cath Richens & Ursula Standring are all ordinary elected members of the Parochial Church Council.

The Blessed Sacrament is perpetually reserved for Adoration, Holy Communion and private prayer.    Our Sunday Club and Crche run concurrently with High Mass on Sundays. Our Bumblebee Nursery meets on weekday mornings in the Undercroft.  The 16th Battersea Scout Group (beavers, cubs, scouts and sea scouts) meets throughout the week at the Scout Hall, Wickersley Road. The Society of Our Lady of Walsingham (Cell of Our Lady, Help of Christians) meets monthly after Mass in church. The Fairs and Social Committee organises an annual programme of exciting social and fund-raising events. If you have any suggestions, please speak to one of its members.  Our Children’s Society secretary is Ann Warwick. Those willing to take collection boxes or help with Christingles should seek her help.
